Tesco chair John Allan to step down next month following misconduct claims

Tesco’s chair John Allan is to step down subsequent month after eight years within the position following allegations about his private conduct.

Allan, a former CBI president, this month denied three separate allegations of inappropriate behaviour. He “unreservedly” apologised for a fourth allegation wherein he admitted to telling a feminine CBI worker that her costume “suited her determine”.

The grocery store group has began in search of his successor and would conclude the method “within the close to future”, it mentioned.

Allan will step down on June 16 at Tesco’s annual assembly. Byron Grote, the grocery store’s senior unbiased director, will turn out to be interim chair.
